she is a fussy eater, so she didn't eat anything new. she eats a decent amount of dairy such as low fat milk and yogurt. She eats trix brand yogurt, which has different colors, but she's been eating it for several months now without ever having an unusual stool. the green stool came out on Friday, she has not gone since, this is also not unusual, i would expect she will go by the end of today.

thanks for your help.

  1. Sure that's normal (the color thing).  Also, sometimes kids will skip a day of going to the bathroom.  My doc says it's okay as long as it's not more than a couple of days and they don't seem uncomfortable.

  2. Normal p**p colors:  yellow, green, brown

Abnormal p**p colors: red, blue, purple

It sounds like food color may be giving the green p**p a color boost, but I wouldn't worry.

  3. I have seen this with blue Kool-aid type drinks and also with bright blue or green frosting.  It should go away after a day or two.

  4. My son who is 6 loves Trix yogurt. Sometimes he has a bright green stool when he has eaten too much.

  5. Red Kool-Aid will do that

  6. don't know if this will be any help but i know when i was younger and i drank anything blue or eaten anything blue i had green stools. don't know if your child would also have that but thought i might tell u then u might have a answer
