Is it normal for a baby parrot to sleep during the day ?

I have a almost 6 months old baby parrot and I was wondering if it is normal for young birds to sleep during the day for an hour or so. He sleeps through the whole night but the around 1 pm he takes a one hour nap and sometimes aroubnd 5 pm he will sleep for another 10-20 minutes. He did that ever since we got him (5 days ago). Is it normal or should we talk to our vet ?

it's perfectly normal all birds take naps.

especially if they are babies or young

my baby lvbirds  would sleep for like half the

day when they were young!!

Sure its normal,i have 6 parrots in different kinds,african gray,kocato,love bird,amazon parrot.all of them take some naps durung the day.specially around noon.

Yes, this is perfectly normal for birds of all ages.  All birds enjoy taking a snooze when things are quiet, or they have been very active and then want to sleep.  A young bird will sleep off and on during the day just like a human baby.  Nothing to worry about.  Please read my profile.

All of my birds take a couple of short naps a day. Your bird is fine, plus babies sleep a little more anyways. No need to worry, unless it sleeps on the bottom of the cage.
