I am a first time mom and I am feeding my 5 month old solids (Dr. recommended) and she loved her turkey with turkey broth yesterday and today she gags when I try to feed it to her. Is this normal? Also, how to I keep her from putting her hands in her mouth the whole time I am feeding her?

  1. What you're never not in the mood for something?

Let her feed herself and then her hands can be in her mouth:

  2. Do YOU like to eat the same things everyday?  Would YOU ant turkey with Turkey broth every day?

  3. do you like to eat turkey every day?

if she's gagging, she's probably not ready for solids and yesterday was a fluke.

  4. My daughter is the same way!!! All my kids were like that actually!!!

As for the keeping hands outta their mouth ... LOL its pretty much impossible ... babies love to put their hands in their mouths!!!

  5. it is normal, just keep trying it, you have to be the parent and make sure she is getting what she needs and if you think she doesn't like it and you stop now you are going to have a very hard time getting her to try new foods. It just takes time to get used to. When I fed my daughter one thing and then another she would gag because she was expecting something else so it was a surprise. Try no to feed her a bottle before, she won't be used to the milky taste before food comes
