My son wet the bed for a couple years. We ended up using a bed wetting alarm and after about 5 months, he was able to stay dry. Well he was dry for about 6 months and has started again. He is 7 yrs old and has been wetting now again for about a month. I am worried we may have to do this all over again and am wondering if a relapse is normal. Please advise!!

  1. Yes do not worry a relapse is normal your child will eventually grow out of this habit. I have a 13 year old daughter who stills nightly wets her bed and she wears pull ups. medications do not work and they are expensive.

  2. There is a 70% chance that a child using the alarm system to relapse  6 months after achieving night time dryness for best way to treat it is to restart the alarm treatment again and hope for success the second time around. i used this system twice with my 2 boy's age's 8 and 13 yrs old. best of luck to you hope it works the second time around.

  3. I would have to say yes it is normal for kids to have relapses. I do recommend you having him checked by the DR. to make sure he doesn't have a med. problem. You might try to have him exercise his bladder. This is easy during the day when he has to pee just tell him to hold it for a few minutes or as long as possible. It cured my daughter. Hope I helped.
