Is it normal for a cordless phone to have a lot of static if you just bought it?

i just bought a new one, and this is my first new one in 3 or 4 yrs., so i don't remember how the other one sounded when it was new.

  1. No it's not normal. Have you tried changing channels? Do you have it plugged near an electronic device? Could possibly be a cheap phone... exchange it and get a new one!


  2. unless u have a wireless router near by if u don't then its probably something with the phone

  3. Do you have wifi or anything that would mess the signal up?

    If you have two things with the same frequency they will mess with each other.  Hope this helps

    Change to Uniden 5.8 that is only the base it has Digital answering machine, Room Monitor, Speaker Phone, Caller ID, Clock display, 3 way calling, hold, ringer option. Cost $39.99 at WALMART Store
