Is it normal for a dog to...?

my dog is a beagle/terrier mix and was recently diagnosed with BPS (beagle pain syndrome) she is running a slight fever and was at the vet Thursday. they have her on two types of OTC medicine and put her on a special type of diet.

she has her ups and downs like the vet said she would, and the medicine seems to knock her out pretty good. i've come to notice when she drifts off to sleep she breathes a little faster then normal.

is this due to the medicine? the fever? or is there something else i should be concerned about?

she is eating and drinking very well and is active when she feels up to it..
