  1. good question.Id say that depends on the individual-some people mellow while others go beserk. But it is said that women grow old better than men-I cant say.

  2. Hi,

No, not at all, I would rather say that it is the other way around.

    Don't you think?

  3. I think their basic personality is what it's always been. It's just that, when you get old (and believe me, I am getting there myself!) things don't go your way as often. You get more aches and pains, your body is starting to fall apart. You remember clearly what it was to be a teenager - some of us older folks even seem to think we are still teenagers, and ridiculously live that way - and you think it's just not right my body won't let me do those things anymore. Another thing that happens: after your own kids have grown up, you can forget how fussy pretty much all little kids get sometimes.

So, there are more annoyances when you get older. How you react depends on your personality. Some people take it in stride. Other people have a personality where they take everything personally and let their external circumstances define their internal joy. These are the people who get bad-tempered, whom you've apparently observed.

What am I like? I think I'm generally even tempered, so when I see these things I don't really let them get to me. But sometimes even I get upset about little things: "bad tempered" as you put it. I do the best I can. :-)

  4. Yeah because people just wanna put us away.  They don't wanna look at the future...realistically speaking.

  5. Yes... overall. Grandparents tend to be less strict on grandchildren (it's not their problem anymore, as much) for example, but otherwise people do become more bad tempered generally.

And why not? You start getting joint and nerve pain, your metabolism slows down and you get tired more easily, nothings as easy as it used to be... and also you tend to be more sure of yourself, so more likely to argue with shop assistants, waitresses etc - there's individual variation, of course, mind.

Frankly, getting away with being bad-tempered is probably the best bit about extreme old age, I'm looking forward to it. Right now, I have to be polite still.

  6. Yes, especially to silly questions and people lying.  Heck, I'm only 41 and I'm a crab.
