ok im a senior in high school i am 17 years old. yes i have done many things that "older kids" do (hook ups, drinking(only twice), s*x (only tried once. i had a bad experience so i havent sence. that wuz wen i wuz 15) smoke(ciggarets only)) i only have 2 friends that are my age that i hang out with. the rest of my friends, a large majority of my friends are sophmore boys and freshman girls. im not into pot and s*x and all that stuff. i met these people at my youth group. i hang out there everyday after school.

i was trying to figure out y most of my friends are so much younger and i realized its because in my school EVERYONE does drugs and has s*x all the time and brags and talks about it like they r so cool. but the group of kids i hang out with are so inocent they dont like any of that stuff so i find it easier to hang with them cuz they just wana have fun and NOT do things like that. i also have adhd so im a little more hyperactive than i should be so that also makes it easier to hang with them. i can see the difference in maturety but in the aspects that matter to me they mostly meet them.

i know im soooo lame its kinda embaressing

is it wrong that i have so many younger friends????

  1. I don't think that's wrong at all. As long as you feel comfortable around them and you've all got a really good and strong friendship. Why give that up just to hang-out with people who aer your age but they smoke, do drugs, have s*x and brag about it. What's the point really?

Sick with the friends that you have. You'll be glad you did

  2. I don't find this embarrassing at all. I'll admit that when I was a senior, all my friends were either juniors or seniors. I had a lot of freshman and sophomore friends as well, but not as much as the upperclassmen. There's nothing wrong with it. A lot of my senior friends hung out with the freshman. To me, it's all about the level of maturity and how much the group has in common. I'm not talking about being "mature," but more of how you all act as a group. Don't worry about it. Your school sounds a little like mine. Most of the "popular" seniors all went to parties, drank, smoked, and had s*x. If you enjoy the company of underclassmen, then don't sweat it. In the long run, you can say that you had best friends in high school. Most people can't say that because they were in the "in" crowd and we all know that those people just turn their backs on each other. Like I said, don't sweat it. Before you know it, high school will be over. Have fun with your senior year like I did.
