  1. NO!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Not really. Six year olds should be able to talk regularly. I know somebody who is six and she talks normal.

  3. not really- is the child able to talk normally at sometimes?  If not, there may be an articulation issue (the way the child speaks is messed up).  If he or she lapses in to times of taking gibberish, and isn't playing or interacting with some one in a playful manner, then that's different.  I've had a student who does this, and it's in my professional opinion a sign of mental instability.  The kid would be singing her alphabet and switch to speaking gibberish.  She has no twin or child her age at home to develop this language with.  Her parents called it baby talk, but baby talk is when you soften your r's and other things to sound younger.  This kid was speaking an entirely different language, and expected everyone to understand her.

  4. Depends on how much she is doing it and how well she speaks otherwise.  My daughter is a funny little thing and speaks in jibberish all the time.  She is only doing it to be silly though and is able to talk VERY well otherwise!

  5. Yes, some people I know still do.

  6. talk to your pediatrician, language development begins at 12 months and should be mastered before the age of 4.  See if he has difficult hearing because that could be the issue and the problem can be easily fixed.  If it isn't his hearing, seek a speech pathologist. GOOD LUCK!

  7. Sometimes, but by age 6 they should be talking mostly in plain language.

  8. well if he is talking in regular language and sometimes jibberish then yes

  9. Yes, my little cusins made their own languge and talked to eachother in it, but hey grew out of it

You could try and think as a kid and you might get it

    or not

  10. depends if you cant understand what they say all of the time then they may need speech therapy.. if it is only part of the time and may not have anything with speech or brain development he may just have a really active imagination

  11. no.

  12. depends... yes and no maybe its a craze going around his school?! or all his mates might be doing it and he's just trying to copy them not sure

  13. no, a child of six years old should have a good and clear sounds of letters and able to form complex sentences, replace words with other words that mean the same and such things like that.

if you cant afford speech therapy or your insurance doesnt cover it then early intervention through the state is free especially if they are in school.

  14. no

  15. No.   Maybe he needs a speech therapist at school.

  16. my son it 4 this week and he talks but its just not right he still splurges and sprits and bal bal ya know?? the problem is bluecross blue sheil does not cover speech problems unless its congenital or from accident like a car crash or whatever, speech theripist ARE NOT cheep each session is 100.00 here in florida i just cant afford that so iv gotten just about everythin possible from stores to help him and it has like word pro for toddlers puzzels with words things like that, people just dont understand the way things are sometines i asked this question befour and was hounded and told i was a bad mother they said the pic was of a dog and not my son so i must spend more time with the dog etc>> odd people. anyway good luck you can however get him evaluated for free threw kid care or doctors.

  17. If s/he speaks well, but reverts to gibberish occasionally, is it really gibberish?  Maybe it's Klingon or Space Alien language.  (Kids that age DO play, and that IS normal.  It's not normal if they DON'T let their imaginations run wild at that age.)

If s/he can't speak normally there's a problem which should be evaluated by the child's pediatrician.

  18. No, I would have the child's hearing tested, preferably by a peadiatric audiologist to see if he/she is hearing the sounds correctly.  If hearing isn't the problem then  would pursue a speech pathologist.  If the child is not covered by insurance then your school system will be able to help you even if the child is not enrolled yet (call the school's service center and ask for the "special needs" department)...good luck

  19. A 6yo should be able to talk so that you can understand him/her, plainly.
