Is it normal for a stove top to remain hot even when the stove has not been used (turned off) for 2 hours?

  1. not sure how hot you mean but if it is a gas one it should be warm....


  2. If it's warm (above room temperature) only.could be the pilot light - if gas and probably no issue. If it's hot (untouchable) you have a problem with either type, and that would not be normal.

  5. If you have a gas stove with a pilot light, then yes, it would be normal for that portion of the stove lid over the pilot to remain warm.

    Many older stoves also 'vent' from the oven thru one of the back burners.  So the burner can be warm, even if turned off, when the oven has been in use.

    Anything else, you should have checked out by a technician.
