  1. when a wire gets hot it means the electricity flowing over the wires is meeting resistance. This usually means the wire is too small for the amount of electricity being drawn through it.

  2. Some appliances do draw alot of current and over time will get hot wires. Example is a vacuum. Use you vac for 20 mins and feel how hot the cord is. It really depends on the appliance and how long the run and guage of cord is.

  3. Wiring will only get hot if there is too great a load on the circuit or through a bad or loose connection.

Wiring can and will get warm, but hot isn't good.

Reduce the load on the circuit.

  4. sounds like you have too great a load for the given system.

  5. you have to much on that circuit.

  6. wire should not be hot- some wire will get warm-please add some details to what is going on- you might have a problem

  7. Your question is "is it normal", the answer is NO, is not.

And it may be dangerous, so whatever it is fix it. You don't want a fire in your place, do you?
