It's been 3 hours since i got my eyes dilated by the doc. He informed me everything was fine. When I got home I noticed that my pupil was so big and my eyes started to tingle? I know that the pupil being big was normal, but is the tingle in my eyes normal? I called the doctor and asked, he said it was just the numbness fading away. The eyes should feel weird. I'm still paraniod. Is the tingle in eyes normal after being diltaed by the doctor? Help! Need to know from people who have gotten eyes dilated? What happens after?

  1. dont worry, i have worked for a eye dr for years. your pupils will go down, everyone is different so the time it takes is different 1-5 hours. your eyes should be back to normal soon. if not call or see your eye dr.

  2. A certain amount is normal; the dilating agent affects the muscles of the pupil.  As they return to normal, you'll get some 'pinging' sensations, similar to the tingling when your hand 'falls asleep' and starts to return to normal.
