Is it normal for hair to fall when combing and shampooing?

Yeah, I'm kind of worried because I'm only 19 lol so basically when I shower/shampoo/wipe my head with the towel I notice some hairs on the bathtub or towel. Also, right now when I was combing it I counted about 15-20 hairs that fell. This has been going on for like maybe 2 years, I don't really remember/cared about it when I was 16 or 17 so I don't really know how long it has been going on...

and I don't have any bald spots. At this rate, my hair would have completely fallen off so I don't think I'm going bald. :/ Is this normal? Thanks. I'm a guy by the way.

  1. yeah it is normal, u are supposed to lose a certain amount of hair daily and its the dead hair that is falling, no worries as long as it isnt excessive..u will now its excessinve when u start seeing baldspots!

  2. It is normal to shed 50 to 100 hairs a day and it is typical to really start paying attention to things now that you are older... when you were younger you didn't really care... so just keep an eye on it... being a teenager hormone changes can be a culprit to hair loss... if you have any doubts or if it gets worse please see a dermatologist... and it would not hurt to maybe start taking a regular multi vitamin... walmart has an equate brand version of one made especially for men.

    hope this helped;-)))

  3. Yeah, that's normal! If it's really worrying you, though, wait until your hair is dried to comb it (it's much more likely to fall out when wet), and don't dig into the roots too much when you shampoo it. It should be fine, though :-)

  4. yea its normal.

  5. yeah it's normal. It more noticable if you have longer hair. An average person looses 100-200 hairs each day on their head. So don't fear.

  6. its depends on how much you are losing if it lot then its  a call for concerns, sometime the shampoo you use can cause hair loss or thinning, stress is one factor plus crash diets

  8. thats pretty much normal. lol i have extremely curly hair and my hair falls out all the time in the shower - its just dead hair and it will eventually get replaced thus no bald spots

  9. I think so it kinda depends on how much hair is falling out
