my son confessed that he used objects to touch himself when he was 8. he is bothered now that it was wrong, but says that he just did it to feel good. is that "normal"?

Dont worry, hes fine. hes rexploring hisown body and just finding out what feels good. he isnt harming himself and i think you must be a good and well-trusted mom for him to tell you! tell him that hes got nothing to worry about and it is normal.

Totally normal. Kids will be curious and uninhibited about their bodies and experiment with all sorts of stuff. It's just a part of growing, and it's pretty innocent. If you look this up in psychology textbooks you'll find that it's normal.

its very normal. he was discovering his body. i am a girl and i started doing this things when i was even younger, i think i was about 5, lol. now i`m 20`.

don`t worry and do not pressure him with this things , only tell him that it`s absolutely normal

Its totally normal. Young children do this commonly without any sexual thoughts, merely because they recognise that it "feels good". Natural in young boys especially. We were learning about this the other day in my anth lecture.

IT'S VERY NORMAL!!!

Every one masturbates as a young child, they only stop because their parents tell them that's 'bad' behavior. Parents should tell their children that that is behavior to be done in private in the bedroom/bathroom.

Even infants m********e in their cribs or against stuffed animals.

well it is totally a normal thing that he is doing he is of 8 years and quiet young,so u must not need to worry abt this it is natural and your son did nothing wrong.
