Is it normal for my boa to strike ?

Is it normal for my red tail to strike the glass on his enclosure when someone walks by, he is not mean at all we handle him constantly but when he is in side his home he strikes at you walking by he does this in the dark and the light after being fed or not just anytime.

  1. if this just started he might be ready to breed and on edge. they get very territorial during breeding season. or how long has it been since he went to the bathroom. he might be blocked up and just wants to be left alone. i would giving him a warm bath. i had a boa once that would only strike at the glass when my sister walked by.

  2. of course, he needs more exercise. duck down by the tank, wave your hand above then stand up and say boo, he should be calm now to hold.
