I've tried using tampons during my periods but i can never seem to relax to put them in all the way and i can feel everything, everyone else says tampons aren't supposed to hurt or anything else. Could something be wrong with me?

  1. Nope, nothing is wrong with you. You just might not be comfortable with them yet. Keep trying and give it time. If it is in and you feel pain you need to take it out though. Also you have to put them in at a 45 degree angle because your cervix is angled.

  2. There is nothing wrong with you. I used to have this problem when I first started wearing tampons. I found it easiest to do it while in a  sitting position on the toilet. Also plastic applicators were easiest for me. Just take your time and relax. Also make sure you are using the proper absorbency for your menstrual cycle.

  3. You could be similar to me - I 'tilt the wrong way' (my nurses words not mine).

Which type are you using - them with an applicator??  I find these much easier to insert.

Persevere - and maybe try a lighter flow - ie smaller till you are used to popping them in.

    xx

  4. I also have a problem with tampons. I have a tilted uterus and find them extremely uncomfortable. Maybe talk to your OBGYN...

  5. It may be that your periods simply aren't heavy enough to require a tampon.  It should slip in, it's no bigger than a finger ( i know, gross comparison) and it should not be uncomfortable. You really shouldn't even be aware of it. It might help if you lie on your back, think of your abdomen as jello - just go mushy - then try inserting the tampon.  I'm going to be gross again - but if you're not flowing heavily enough to need a tampon, then the area may be too dry to insert a cotton tube...but it sounds like your issue may just be relaxation. Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. : )  Good luck!

  6. every girl goes through that when they first use a tampon...you just have to keep trying and trying for a pretty long time just so you can get used to it, trust me its like that in the beginning later on you will think that its easy

  7. are you sure you put it the right way

  9. no

  10. I used to have that same problem and then the more I used tampons the more I started to get comfortable with it. It used to feel like it was kind of pinching my insides but now I can barely feel it. Nothings wrong with you, you just have to let yourself get used to it, and make sure you putting it in properly and all the way.

  11. make sure you're fully relaxed, if you flex certain mucsles while inserting a tampon the shock can trigger unpleasant reactions, so just make sure you're relaxed

  12. You have to put it in at a slanted position so it doesn't hurt.

  13. I don't think anything is wrong with you. It could just be that you are not inserting them in far enough. Try to do it standing up, with one leg up on the toilet seat. That worked for me the first time I used one. All I can say is relax, I know its kinda repetitive to say but once you do relax it will be that much easier. Good luck
