  1. lmaaaao! you just made my day XD

    hahaha

really, you did :] thankss haaha.

and i dont think its bad.. maybe do a little research?

  2. im sry but that is the cutest thing i have ever heard....any way ask your local petstore worker or a vet but i think a vet might laugh.

  3. i dunno i dont think it was sleep walking it proberly had just started waking up and its eyes was proberly not open wide so looked like he or her was sleep walking.

  4. if your referring to him being up all night. its cuz hamsters are nocternal (sleep mostly during the day, and are active during the night).

If not, how can you tell their really sleepwalking?

  5. He's not sleep walking- he's likely moving with his eyes closed, not yet fully awake.

Hamsters, in the wild, live underground and are accustomed to dark, so it's not unusual for them to not open their eyes when they're not fully awake.

  6. heeehehehehehe. sorry that's kind of funny/cute.

probably. i mean humans do it so wh ynot hamsters?

  7. I've been thinking the same!

My case is that my hamster is sleeping real tight at the ground floor of the cage and then suddenly she would be scampering up the stairs to the first floor and sit on top of the roof of her house. This happens at daytime. When I call her name she would jump in a sudden as she is shocked by me. Seems confuse, she will slowly walk downstairs and continue to sleep under the wheel. I've seen her like this for a several times. Normally, she would wake up from her sleep to snack but not to be on top of the roof of her house. Hurm, me myself is confusing and i've been thinking that she is sleepwalking.

  8. Interesting question!

Hamsters don't need to sleep walk, they can walk anywhere accurately with their eyes closed. Hamsters have very weak eyesight (hardly 1.5 feet) and depend mainly on their sense of smell and hearing to guide them whether they are in the wild or tamed in a cage. A hamster with his eyes closed can walk anywhere without bumping into things since he is actually walking the same way he would do with his eyes open i.e. depending on his sense of sound and smell.

Hamsters do what is called as"sleep walking" a lot of time. 1. They change their places in the cage when sleeping and that time you might see them scurrying from one place to another with their eyes shut.

    2. When hamsters sleep, one part of their brain is still working to catch all sounds and scents and if something scent/sound interests the hamster when asleep, he will go to investigate it even with his eyes closed.

    3. When you force wake a hamster from deep sleep, he would obviously come out of his nest with his eyes closed.
