Today my legs feel very tight and swollen, I do sit at a desk all day, but I also try to get up and walk around at least once an hour. Is it normal for the swelling to begin this soon?

  1. Try not to consume a lot of salt, salty food.

  2. With my last and this one, I started swelling bad in the 1st trimester and it stays with me until about 6 weeks after delivery.  It is normal.  Mine is so bad that if i push my finger on my ankle or leg, I have an indent for about 10 minutes.  it is no cause for concern unless it hurts when you touch it, then you'd need to worry about blood clots.

  3. Perfectly normal.  I am 24 weeks pregnant and the swelling is so bad it feels like my legs and feet are going to split open!  Keep your feet propped and drink plenty of fluids.  Inform your doctor if it becomes worrisome to you.  Hang in there...the end result will be worth it!

  4. You can swell at anytime.

My midwife recommended laying down or sitting up with your feet raised to prevent it. I used to sleep with my feet on a pillow, now I've got too big and can't lay on my back or my backache kicks in!

  5. Yes it is completely normal. I'm also 23 weeks and I noticed that I started swelling last week or so. It's not exactly painful, but I have 2 pair of shoes that I can't wear some days because of it. (My favorite sandals are too tight :( ) Anyhow, just keep an eye on how much you do swell, because sometimes that can be a sign of some other problem, but I'm pretty sure you're fine :)

  6. Yes, I was swollen through most of my pregnancy with my first. It was awful, I thought I'd never see my ankles again. I was sitting at a desk all day also and I think that was the problem because i was never swollen with the 3 after that.

  7. yes it's normal. I'm 25 weeks and my feet and legs began to swell at 19 weeks.
