It's just the one that is coming in that hurts, the other ones coming in do not. But is it normal to have pain from a wisdom tooth coming in?

Thanks.

  1. sometimes

  2. It sure is normal, especially if the wisdom tooth is impacted and forcing all you other teeth forward. I had both my lower wisdom teeth this way and I had extreeme pain for months and months when they were coming through. As soon as you can get them taken out, do it!! coz then the pain is gone forever and its fantastic.

  3. THIS IS LIKE TEETHING. SOME ORAJEL OR AMBESOL OVER THE SORE GUM SPOT WILL HELP.

  4. Yes,  discomfort is normal,   you are actually "teething" and that hurts..........now you know why toddlers are so crabby !

The tricky part is,  when a tooth is part way in,  food and germs get stuck under the little gum flap you have over part of the tooth,  and that can lead to infections which hurt even more.   Try really hard to keep that area clean and disinfected,  (Listerine helps),  and some people even have the area flushed with water or peroxide by their dentist.

  5. absolutely....most times its best to have them pulled...it'll save you alot of pain in the future!

  6. Oh yeah.

  7. YES.  I have been financially unable to get my wisdom teeth removed and it can be extremely painful at times.  Often the whole jaw will flare up with pain, and I've even experienced headaches.  If the tooth is impacted (still beneath the gumline) then the process will be similar to that of a child teething.  If you have dental insurance, please take care of it, it could possibly get worse, and there are other issues besides the pain, it can cause tooth decay, and crowding.  Good luck.
