Is there a difference between a pet sitter and a house sitter? Or are they interchangeable? Will someone often either strictly be one or the other or will a house sitter also care for pets, while a pet sitter will also have to baby sit the house while the owner is away? Any ideas ?

  1. Yes it's normal. The difference is people and pets.

  2. The house sitter should be able to take care of your pets as well as the house. Just make sure your pets are comfortable around them

A pet sitter usually just comes by your house to feed the pets or the pets stay with them. It all depends on the pet sitter. House sitter takes care of the house while you're gone. I don't see why they can't take care of the pets while they're there

  3. i think house sitters also care for pets, if its needed

  4. A house sitter stays in the house a pet sitter may not necessarily spend the night, but they could.  I loved my pet sitter, she did not spend the night but came twice a day.  She was a life saver.  There are many people that are house sitters and pet sitters (and dog walkers).  It is not "normal" but it is a valuable service that is needed.

You have to be very trust worthy.

  5. It's totally normal.  I do it almost as a side business.  Generally if I'm taking care of pets, I'm also sort of taking care of the house although it isn't part of my responsibilities and the same goes for house sitting.
