It's a mallard duckling about 2-3 weeks old. I have been feeding him plain cracked corn, and I gave him a few flies today... He was donated to the farm I work at and then I adopted him yesterday, and I haven't seen him p**p. I have taken him over to a low flow creek at the from to swim, he could of pooped then but I have never seen him. Is this normal? For him not to p**p often or at all when they get a

new home? Do ducklings only like poo in secret or in water? He likes water so I let him play in his water dich and give him baths often...

I'm just worried.... could something were he is sick make him unable to poo? What do I do about it???

  1. Your duckling is way to young for cracked corn. His body is too young to process it properly.  He should be eating duck, or chick starter until he is nearly 6 mo. old.  Cracked corn can be introduced to him after he is fully feathered, but mix it in with the duck starter.  Ducks love to p**p in the water.  I think your duck is probably pooping and you don't know it.  Please change his food.  The duck starter (or chick starter) is very inexpensive.  Please read my profile
