  1. That depends on what you use water for and how much. That is, do you have a pool that needs to be topped off occasionally? Do you have a lawn or extensive landscaping that requires lots of water? If so, then I could see two people using 5900 gallons of water a month.

    I just read in the paper yesterday that Lance Armstrong (the cyclist) used over 220,000 gallons of water at his estate in Austin, Texas last month. He has extensive tropical landscaping in a fairly dry area that is in drought right now. And, he was completely unaware that he used so much water.


  2. Yes, that is normal. We have two people in a home and we average between 4000 and 6000 per month. I had a very small leak and it went up to 11,000 for two months in a row. However, 5900 is very reasonable.
