  1. Well I would go see a doctor and have the dentist or someone check it out.

  2. No, it's not normal. Swollen gums and infection are a sign of gingivitis.

    * Get an anti-infective oral gel and apply on your gums 1-2 times a day.

    * Chewing on cloves is effective in lessening the infection as well.

    * If you have bad breath as well, use an effective mouthwash like listerine or hexoral.

    * Have tartar removed regularly to prevent cavities and bacterial accumulation.

  3. This may be gum disease. It could also be due to a vitamin deficiency. For gum disease, try this

    1. Use hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to brush gently along the gum line.

    2. Use an electric tooth brush along the gum line to dislodge particles

    3. Get a professional cleaning every 6 months, no exceptions

    4. Floss every single day, no exceptions

  4. did you jab it with your toothbrush - or get a brustle stuck in it?  Did you floss too hard - is there food stuck?  you could also just have a virus and it will go away.  swish with warm saltwater.  I doubt that is is gum disease as it typically doesn't appear so quickly - unless you've had this for awhile?  call your dentist if it continues.  good luck!

  5. Gingival swelling or swollen gums appear abnormally enlarged, bulging or protruding.  Swelling of the gums is quite common and may involve one or many papillae which are referred to as the triangular-shaped bits of gum between adjacent teeth.  Common causes of swollen gums are gingivitis, infection by a virus or fungus, gum sensitivity to toothpaste or mouthwash, poorly fitting dentures, side effect of a certain drugs, malnutrition, scurvy and pregnancy.  Many people are experiencing swollen gums occasionally and significantly, obscuring teeth altogether.  The best home care for swelling gums is to improve nutrition if it is poor.  Try to avoid things that can irritate the gums such as commercial mouthwashes, tobacco products, and alcohol.  Be able to gave a good oral hygiene and try to see a dentist at least every six months.
