Is it normal for your belly button piercing to be sore?

ok, i just changed my navel peircing for the first time and when i put the new ring in yesterday it didnt hurt at all but than when i woke up this morning it hurts and its real sore. its not red or anything, is it just because i changed it and is it normal? how long will it hurt? thanks in advance!!!

  1. yeah its probably not used to the new piece of jewelry, but there's nothing to worry about, it's just a little irritated, just keep cleaning it the way you usually do and it will be fine in about a week or so


  2. If you waited the amount of time that they told you to wait before changing the original ring, then yes it should be alright. When I changed mine for the first time it was a bit tender for about a week, but that soon went away. Sometimes it would hurt for a while if I banged my stomach on something or got the ring caught but other than that after about a week it should be virtually painless!

    If it starts to turn like red or purple and stays that way for more than a few days consult your doctor, you could have an infection or allergy to the ring you just put in!

  4. When I changed the ring for the first time, it wasn't sore and it was a month after when I got it pierced, you could have slept on it funny, that's what I would assume cause usually it shouldn't hurt when you put a new one in in less you did it before a month.
