Is it normal for your eye to itch and feel this way?

This is pretty complicated... Me and my grandma and two other family members took a trip to Tijuana, Mexico. But after my grandma came back she said he eye has been starting to feel weird. Here's what it feels like: Dry and itchy, and she says she feels like there is something in there, and some gooey stuff too.

We came back from Mexico 9/18/08. She said she started to feel this way on the 20th. I also started to feel like this too. It started last night for me. My eye became VERY itchy and watery. I also felt like there was something crawling in my eye, and now my eyes feel like there is a rash all over them. I also noticed some redness.

Please tell me what is going on, we are trying to see if we can talk to our doctor's, and we really think this has something to do with the trip to Mexico.

Could it be pink eye?  This is an eye infection that is highly contagious.  It is easily cured, so I'm glad you and your grand mom are going to the doctors.
