  1. I was scared shitless....yup, I'll never forget it...I was shaking and fumbling my words...it was yucky. But when the day came, it was great, within the first hour of working I was ok. You'll be ok too, I promise ;) just think positive. Its totally normal feeling the way you do, I'll also say that with time and every other job you have after this one (if you do ;) ) it only gets easier. You'll do great missy, :)

  2. Yea it's normal and chances are you may mess up but that's normal. Everyone messes up at first its a apart of learning but since you are new they cut you some slack. You'll be fine.

  3. I think everyone feels that way. Am I going to do a good job? Will people like me? Am I ready for this? Will I like the job? These are questions that go through everyone's mind. They hired you, right? So relax. There is something about you that made you stand out above all the other applicants, or they wouldn't have given you the job. You'll do fine. Just listen and pay attention to what your boss or trainer is saying. Don't be afraid to ask questions. It's better that you ask if you're unsure about something than to mess something up trying to do it your way. No, they won't think you're dumb. They'll be thankful that you double checked first. Once you've been there for 15 min. or so, your nevousness will fade. Put your best foot forward and Good Luck!

  4. it is completely normal. i am really painfully shy and the two hardest things for me starting a new job are meeting the new people and not knowing how to do anything-- i'm afraid of feeling like an idiot. but i also train new employees and i'm always comforted by how everyone treats the new employee and doesn't expect them to have everything down in no time.  just remember that all new employees have no idea how the job is done and it isn't just you. good luck!

  5. Completely normal. I've felt that way every time I started a new job, not just the first time.

You'll be fine. Employers expect people to be nervous at first. Good luck!

  6. Oh yeah--it was very normal for me. Lol, I even got sick! But once you are there and start, it will disapate until you no longer notice.

I'd say something else, but being told to "not think about it" usually has the reverse effects.

Good luck--it'll be over before you know it. :)

  7. don't worry-this is very normal.  take a few deep breaths, and KNOW that you can do anything you set your mind to.

I was super nervous my 1st day, but you'll be fine!

    Good luck!

  8. Terrified and felt that way all week. Once I understood my duties and realized no one was watching my every move, I settled in.

  9. Yeah, it's normal. Don't worry, majority of the time the co-workers there will make you feel comfortable. You'll make new friends and most likely you'll enjoy being there. Then you'll look back thinking, "Wow, was I that nervous?!". =P

..Good luck on your first day of job tomorrow.

  10. The first day of my new job last year my daughter-in-law went into labor with my new grandson!

I decided to call off because I could always get another job, but my grandson would only have one first day.

They were so wonderful and said, "Of course! You've GOT TO GO!"

The next day, after missing the first day of orientation, everyone did everything they could to help me catch up!

Everyone was so kind and all were genuinely interested in how the new baby and mom were!

I never regretted that decision and I still love my job a year later!
