Is it normal that 1 month and a half syrian hamsters have bums that look like baboon bums?

my Syrian hamster had 9 babies about 1 month and a half ago i have separated the babies from the mom and by male/female but the male's (i think i could have separated them badly) have big bums like baboon bums is that normal for a 1 month and a half baby Syrian !?! please help!! are they sick ???

  1. Yes, completely normal. Don't tease them about it or they'll get self-conscious.

    Lots of rodents are like that - male rats and mice are also...well-endowed. Kind of unsightly, but it makes separating the  males and females a heck of a lot easier.


  2. yes it is completely normal. The baboon bum you see is the male hamsters testies (male parts). They are becoming mature and therefore they are starting to "drop" All the ones with the "baboon bums" are boys and the ones without it are girls. Good job telling the difference, sounds like you did just fine.

  3. The Baboon Bums which you are seeing are the male Syrian Hamsters Testicles! This is completely normal and makes sexing them very easy!
