Is it normal to be afraid of your potential mother in law?

Anyone else kind of scared by their mother in law or mother in law to be?

I was scared to meet my boyfriends mom. He is an only change and her baby! She is really nice though and sees me as someone right for her boy. I think it just depends on how the mother in law is.

you shouldn't be afraid of her.....nervous maybe that you want to take care of her son, but he's marrying you, you must be doing something right.  if he lets her interfere too much you need to talk to him NOW.  you just need to be yourself, because then she'll learn to like the real you and you won't have to ever be nervous or scared.  me and my mother in law are great friends, have been since day one.
