Question:

Is it normal to be measured 3 different bra sizes in a week? HELP...?

First I was measured a 36 C at Victoria's Secret, then a week later, I was measured at Maidenform as a 34 C, and subsequently measured a 36 B at Vanity Fair about 15 minutes later! My back has been bothering me in my spine as being a 36 C...but every time I get measured, I keep getting smaller according to them! Is it just faulty measurers...or me having a bad back? Because none of their bras with their measurements fit at all and were smaller than the size I wore that was hurting my back. Any advice would be nice. Anything. Really.

  1. they just don't know what they are doing. I think your best choice was victoria's secret. That's where I usually go. I wouldn't tell you anything wrong, cause i am a 36 DD.

  2. This is proof that many 'professional bra fitters' have no clue what they're doing! Check out this article: http://archive.theargus.co.uk/2006/10/16... One woman is fitted as a 34B/C, 36AA, 34C, 32C/D, 32D/DD, and 32C/D at six different shops. Others are right when they say that every bra company makes theirs differently (you should wear a different size in some different brands), but it should not vary by more than a cup size or so, and the band size should never change unless one brand has particularly tight/loose bands.

Try to do this yourself. Look at how your bra fits and looks and try to determine from there what's wrong with the sizing. The links I've posted will give you great advice. For example, do the bras dig into your shoulders? (If so, go down a band size.) Does the band ride up your back? (Go down a band size.) When you lift your arms, does the underwire lose contact with your ribcage? (Go down a band size and up a cup size to compensate.)  I will tell you that if you have back pains, it's probably due to too loose of a band, not too tight of a band: if you're in a snugger band, it will be more supportive and your b*****s will take less of a toll (I used to wear 34s; I got sized as a 32; in 28s/30s I have far less pain).

    Good luck!

  3. every store measures differently.

if you're really concerned, pick ONE store, and measure there every week or so.

  4. Each manufacturer probably has a different measurment for each size.  I would find a bra that fits comfortably and stick with that company.

  5. Not all staff are trained correctly and this can lead to inaccuracies in measurements.  There was a programme a few weeks ago about how rubbish some places at measuring bras.  Furthermore different shops have different sizes anyway.  Like all clothing you can vary in size from shop to shop.  SOme shops don't measure you and just guess your size and then ask you to try that size on and work from there which seems a better way although time consuming!

The best way to see whether a bra fits is to try it on.  The back should do up comfortably on the first catch.  The arms should be set so that the back sits under your shoulder blades and should not fall down or dig.

The underwire should sit flat on your chest.  You should have no gaps anywhere.  Your breats should sit in the cups without hanging over or getting lost in them.

  6. for starters its probably because of the brand. but who really cares about bras and your size. that is personal. glad i could help.

  7. Yes very normal. You will also find that different manufacturers make different sizes the best thing to do is try them on in the shop and buy the one that gives you the nicest shape and feels most comfortable and forget about the sizes as at the end of the day they are just numbers. Also visit your doctor about your back as a c cup should not be big enough to cause back pain Take care

  8. same thing with shoes

a nike may you may be 5

    coach a size 6

    adidas a size 4

    reebok size 4.5

  10. Different brands actually fit differently so they're probably all right, for their own brand. 34C and 36B actually have the same volume but they're shaped differently. And I have heard that Victoria's Secret ones can run a size smaller so it all makes sense to me. Just wear the size that is the most comfortable to you since you're the one who has to deal with it!

  11. it could b normal....for me, im a 34d but i can wear some 36c bras. kinda like some girls can wear a 34c and a 36 b or a 32d... it just depends, but most girls are able to wear 2 different sizes. i wouldnt worry about it :]

  12. yea ur ok...some bras run small, some run big..for victoria secrets i wear a 34c but for maiden form i need a D..its like jeans..some run big, some run small
