Is it normal to be on your period for 10 days?

I started birth control about 22 days ago and I started my period last monday and I am still on my period. My last several periods have been 3-5 days and lighter than they used to be. I am 19 years old. The first few days very light. then the last several days have been much much heavier and plus today makes ten days.

Yes, it's probably normal because of the birth control.Your body takes about two months,sometimes longer, to get used to all the hormones being given to you by the pills.

My period lasted forever when i started birth control, but it was really light and would get heavier when my "normal" period was supposed to start. (By "normal" i mean before the pills.)

If it continues and you're still concerned, call your OBGYN and ask his/her opinion.
