I'm 16 years old, and recently over the past 4 months, ive become so broody its untrue.

Ive always helped out my friends with their children and have much experience in primary school teaching, so ive been around children loads and never before have i felt like this!

in fact ive always been rather independent and have concentrated on my future career since i was tiny, i always used to say that "having a baby can wait," but at the moment I dont know!

Im in a relationship, and my partener would do anything for a little girl.

( We're not trying for a baby dont get me wrong!)

But i just dont understand why i'm feeling like this!

I think it started when i first held my friends newborn, but i dont know!

can anyone explain?

  1. Times are different and I don't recommend having a child as a teen but our bodies are designed to reproduce at the optimum time (which is when we are young). I started feeling that way around 18 and had my first child at 19. I think broodiness can be pushed aside while you need to get things done but I do believe our bodies are pretty intelligent.

  2. omg i totally sympatise with you

i feel EXACTLY the same and have done for ages

i can hold a baby in my arms for ages and be content, i love everything about them and in shops i cant help but look at all the cute clothes

but i understand responsibility and tell myself i cant have one

because one day i will get someone who i love and we will have a baby.

i hold onto this idea because its the only thing that keeps me going.

    i know what your feeling

  3. Hi, it's perfectly normal, it's just that 'woman-thing' kicking in.And especially if you are into kids too as a career.

One of your friends having a baby has maybe made you think a bit,but babe you have your whole life ahead of you, please wait a bit.

You sound pretty grown-up and together,to me, so what about you think of a career in nursing? midwifery? or somewhere where your passion and intelligence can be used to the full before you settle down to domestic bliss yourself?

  4. its normal hun, just spend time with kids or around kids, dont do anything you'll regret though, believe me I had my son when i was 16 and it changed everything for both of us

  5. Perfectly normal. In strictly medical and biological terms, you are an adult, a grown woman. The urges your hormones create are unstoppable.

  6. Yeah, it's really normal. Your hormones will be a little crazy right now, so it's perfectly normal. No need to worry.

  7. It is very easy to become broody after seeing a friend with a newborn as they are adorable but please think about it as it is not so easy looking after them and paying out for them. Your time will come honey just be patient x
