Is it normal to cry at a dance recital?

My aunt started to cry during the first song. It was retarded. It wasn't even her child on stage and the song was that song "Jump on it"

It's not uncommon. Nothing wrong with that. Most likely the recital touches something that she has kept so long, that her memory sensor controlled her emotion that she couldn't help but get emotional.  It's the same when we sometimes can't stopped laughing for no reason.  Just like some people cry at a wedding. At least you know that your aunt wants to be in that recital. You should comfort her instead, sort of tell her you understand her. Who knows, when you get to her age...

I cried at the last ballet I saw which was Symphonie Fantastique and Afternoon of a Faun performed by the Australian Ballet. If something is beautiful and it touches your heart then its a natural reaction. Things appear alot more beautiful and you have a greater appreciation for dancers when you have experienced them first hand.

My gramma cried during my senior solo LOL, Oh, gramma. Sure, it can be emotional and maybe your aunt was revisiting her clubbing days ;)

The one time I cried was when I went to see the show I had been in for a few years but didn't get to this year. I had a lot of friends in the show and it was "Narnia".   It really was a great show!  

The only other time I have seen someone cry was when one of the teachers at my dance school was watching a ballet dance with a girl that was partly retarded.  

Other than that crying for no reason is kinda weird...

I cry for anything and everything. If I feel like it I will cry. So your aunt is definately not retarted.
