Question:

Is it normal to experience headaches a day after having your pupils dilated?

Yesterday I had my eyes dilated for the first time, and afterward I came home and sat on the computer for the rest of the night. Now I know that isn't smart, but I had those little sunglasses on. Anyway, I wake up the next morning with my head hurting like a ***** in the back of my head, and I tried switching positions and what not but nothing helped until I finally stood up. Now I've randomly been feeling the headache pains while I'm walking around doing things around the house.

What do you think?

  1. You really need to rest your eyes. Meaning try not to focus hard on objects, look into a bright computer screen, watch tv in the dark.

Your pupils help to let light in through little holes, and when they are dilated they are letting in more light then you are use to, instead of contracting when the light is brighter they stay the same. thats why they give you sunglasses (not because they think they are s**y on you). If you can lay down with your eyes closed and listen to music or do something that generally does not take your eyes to hard to focus on you should be fine in time. If it stays the same for longer then a day or gets worse, call your eye doctor.
