Question:

Is it normal to feel c**p before your periods start? (women/girls only please!)?

I'm 14 and haven't started my periods yet, but I have all the symptoms (discharge for a few months [not sure how many now], hair, etc etc).

For a few weeks I have felt really c**p, like I'm doing everything automatically and I feel tired all of the time, even though I have unusually long lie-ins!

I went to the doctors and the next week I had a blood test for 5 things (this was last week), and apparently no action needs to be taken, as in I don't have anemia or diabetes or low iron, but I still feel c**p. These results came yesterday.

Can anyone help me please? I hate feeling like this! It's as if I'm not myself any more, and I can't be bothered to even get up and do anything. Is it to do with my period, or nothing to do with it at all? And I think my eyesight has got a bit worse, if that might have something to do with it.

Thank you very much!

  1. I was sort of like that. I was getting lazier and lazier before mine started, so yeah maybe. Have you been feeling any crampings or mood swings? I usually do a couple of days before mine come on.

  2. What is premenstrual syndrome (PMS)?

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a group of symptoms linked to the menstrual cycle. PMS symptoms occur in the week or two weeks before your period (menstruation or monthly bleeding). The symptoms usually go away after your period starts. PMS can affect menstruating women of any age. It is also different for each woman. PMS may be just a monthly bother or it may be so severe that it makes it hard to even get through the day. Monthly periods stop during menopause, bringing an end to PMS.

What are the symptoms of PMS?

PMS often includes both physical and emotional symptoms.  Common symptoms are:

    acne

    breast swelling and tenderness

    feeling tired

    having trouble sleeping

upset stomach, bloating, constipation, or diarrhea

    headache or backache

    appetite changes or food cravings

    joint or muscle pain

    trouble concentrating or remembering

tension, irritability, mood swings, or crying spells

    anxiety or depression

best of luck to you :]

  3. i doubt the eyesight has anything to do with a period but yes its normal to feel like c**p. PMS can range from being tired and bloated, crampy and just plain bitchy to headaches and back pain.it will take a while for you to regulate and get things under control but try some midol and see if it helps the symptoms at all. also try some herbal tea and let yourself rest.

  4. It is normal to feel crappy before your period, but from the symptoms you described I'm wondering if maybe you have mononucleosis.  Ask your doctor to test you for it.  It's fairly common in people your age, and it spreads very easily.

  5. period :)
