I was eating my clams and one fell out of it. It's small, not exactly round and has a milky white shell.

  1. You've discovered a natural occurring pearl.  It happens in nature when a grain of sand gets inside the clam shell and irritates it.  The clam produces the coating over the sand to stop the irritation.  A plastic ball is is physically put into the clam in mass production, giving you a perfectly round end product.  It is more rare to find a perfectly round naturally occurring pearl and even more so if it has color.

  2. Bring it to a jewelers now.. woaaaah ur gonna get a lot for that!

  3. aw its a personal treasure, lucky!

  4. its very rare to find a pearl, but since you have you should take it to a jeweler to be cleaned and to find the value of it.

  5. not exactly. they are rare to find, they r usually at the bottom of the ocean or sea.

  6. It's normal. It's not common, but, they do make pearls, and it happens. They're more common in oysters.

When I was in culinary arts school, noone ever wanted to shuck the oysters, and everyone tried not to be around or busy when they were assigning that. The one day, like everyone refused to do it, so they made Eddie do it, and he found TWO pearls that day. He had them made into a ring and gave them to his girlfriend, who is now his wife.
