Is it normal to freak out about a new tattoo?

Yesterday I got matching tattoos with my best friend of 15 years. We both decided on the design and it came out beautiful but I woke up this morning a little freaked out. Is this normal? I know I need to calm myself down but its hard. Has anyone else ever felt this way?

  1. don't sweat it the same thing would happen to me too

  2. I freak out over mine.

Because it is AMAZING that I get to keep it forever!!

  3. I think you need to elaborate a little more.  What exactly did you freak out about?  The way it looks, or that you actually got one, or that your so happy?  Just freaking out doesn't explain much.

  4. yeah of course, it's permanent.  but it sounds like you took time planning it out and it means something special to you so it's not an impulsive decision.

then, even on some days when you don't like how the tattoo looks, you will always like what it means

  5. umm

    I dont have a tatoo

but if i did I would stand and be proud of it unless it was messed up or you didnt like it then

    oops

    your mistake

    dont you like your tatoo?

  6. Haha after I got my first tattoo...I about had a heart attack the next morning.  Oh my God, what have I done kind of moment.

But think of the meaning of your tattoo and your friendship.  Your best friend will be with you always.

It's normal, at least for some people.  Once it's healed and you get used to it, you'll be fine.

  7. Why did you freak out? Because it was still there lol? Its just a tattoo hun nothin to freak out about, if you got through the process of getting it your fine.

  8. yea

ya have a new awsome tatoo!!!

  9. Yeah it's normal because tatoos are pretty permanent. I have 5 of them and I pretty much freaked out over the first few.

I think too many people get tats without thinking them through. You buy a car and it lasts only five years; you think about it and plan for it for weeks before coming to a decision. But tats that last a lifetime and go with you to the grave, altering your body forever, people don't put enough thought into that.

You've got a tat just because your good friend got one, and you got matching tats to boot. You put ink on your body that you'll carry to your grave. No wonder you're freaking.

It's done now, learn to live with it. Enjoy showing it off!
