I gained 2 pounds. My mom said it's not weight I have to worry about because I'll be having a period in about a week. Do you agree? Do girls gain a couple pounds about a week before their period?

  1. It does for me I gain about 3.4 pounds a week before so I can kinda tell when it's happening. But by the end it's gone.

I drink alot of water to help so maybe try that.

  2. Hi...usually just before your period you do retain some water which could be described as weight I guess...but it soon disappears when your period starts...nothing to worry about!

  3. Yes defo, the week efore your period your body holds fluid and it can hold alot of it too.  When you start your period the fluid will be released in your bleed and by you having to go for a wee more than usual.  Its nothing to worry about as its only temporary and you will be normal weight again the week after if not before.

  4. I find that I usually do. This is because of the weight of the blood inside you which gradually builds up over the month. As soon as your period is over you will be the same weight as you were before.
