Is it normal to have a big indent on your tongue after you get your tongue pierced?

got my tongue pierced just over a week ago, and while the swelling has gone WAY down and it's much more comfortable... I have quite a bit indent on the top of my tongue where the ball sits when my mouth is closed. Is this normal? Will it go away?

yes it is normal while the swelling went away the tongue is still getting used to having this big metal thing stuck in the middle of it and hanging out both sides
