Is it normal to have a delayed period after u stop taking birth control?

I had been of birth control for a little over a week when I began my period. I had a light period that ended after three days. My period usually lasts five to six days. During my period my boyfriend and I had intercourse and he ejaculated inside, we just figured the birth control would still be in effect. Was this a mistake? Now I'm late for my period this month. is that b/c i got off of birth control?

You can definitely be pregnant! Birth control only works properly if you take it properly. Take a test using your first morning urine.
