Is it normal to have a short period if you have just gone off birth control?

I took birth control for about seven months, and I went off it because it was making me get my period all the time.

So When I went off it, three weeks went by, and I got my period. Normally my period is about five to six days. However, this time it was only three or four days. The flow was about the same, but normally after four days, I sitll have it, I just becomes really light. This time it just stopped all together after four days.

Is this normal?

  1. Yes this is normal. It may take awhile for your natural hormones to return to the way they were, or should I say to a regular cycle. I would give yourself anywhere from 3 to six months for your cycle to get back on course, in the mean time make sure if you are sexually involved you continue to use a condom.

If you are concerned about this situation discuss it with your doctor. Good luck to you.

  2. yes.It is normal. I have heard that it normally takes your body a few months in order to get back to its normal cycle because it does not have all the added hormones that the birth control gave you.
