my mom was flying a long distance and about an hour before the destination she felt sick (nausea) and told a stewardess. This woman told her, she'd only have a suppository...

Have you ever heard of anything like that??

How should my mom insert a suppository on a plane??

Of course, she didn't take it then...

  1. Was the flight steward speaking in her native language? - Sounds like something was lost in translation because it is not acceptable to offer such a medication by an unqualified person let alone on a plane!!

  2. nope!

  3. She would go to the lavatory and insert the suppository there.  Probably wouldn't have been very easy or comfortable to do.

When I had morning sickness when pregnant with my daughter, my doctor prescribed suppositories.  I couldn't take a pill and keep it down long enough for it to work, so inserting from the other end was the only way to get the medication in me.

I'm not familiar with any over-the-counter suppositories for nausea so unless the stewardess could have shown me the package for a product with a brand name that I knew well, I probably would have declined it as well.

  4. I'd say that is not normal at all...
