  1. I have severe nightmares from having a severe brain injury and severe PTSD from being in Iraq.  I often wake up punching my wife (not usually very hard but I whopped the head board very hard the other night)  Anyways, Walter Reed's psychaitrist prescribed me a medicine called Seroquil which is specifically a pill for nightmare type dreaming, it helps pretty well so far.  Try it out, remember psychologists can't prescribe meds the are for psychotherapy(talk therapy) psychaitrists give you the meds...  Good luck!

  2. Pray and ask Jesus to save you and forgive you of your sins ask God for a good night's sleep. Read the  bible.

Here is  2 scriptures that will help Psalm 23 and Psalm 91:1-6

  3. i dont know if its normal, but some adults do have nightmares.

idk maybe you should get sleeping pills?worth a shot if you're falling asleep at work, i think.

and my friend tells me eating any milk products before going to bed  increases bad dreams.

  4. Yes its normal when a person [doesnt matter the age ] went through lots of trauma or had lots of unresolved issues

  5. I am an adult and I have nightmares too. Just because you have reached the adult stage does not mean you only have good dreams. Dreams are a way to tell your self something. What I mean is, you have stress in your life and you live it out in your dreams. The best way to deal with them is to only think positive thoughts before you go to bed, and if you still have a bad dream, when you wake up, write it down and breath. So some relaxation exercises before you go to bed. Listen to soothing music. There is also a pill called unisom that will help you sleep better. I use it about two times a month and it helps me sleep soundly.

  6. its normal to maybe have them once a month or once a year but not nightly.  See a psychologist if possible.

  7. Get hypnotized to think you are Dr. Phil.

  8. Yes, it's normal to have nightmares at any time during your lifespan.

What is your usual nighttime ritual before you go to bed? Do you drink? Do you watch the evening news? I'd suggest first, start going to bed at the same time and don't watch anything scary before bed, even the evening news. If that doesn't work, try some over the counter sleeping medication. OTC meds usually aren't addictive. Then quit after 3 or 4 nights.  Wait a week. If you still have trouble sleeping, see your MD.
