  1. Depending on how often. Nightmares are you subconscious fears that you are trying to work through in your sleep. There is obviously an issue that you are failing to solve and are experiencing fears/anxieties about.

  2. I do not think its normal to have nightmares.  There is obviously something happening in your life or subconscious that is affecting your mind.

  3. yes its absolutely normal. The things you fear takes an imaginative form & you see it in your dream. To avoid such dreams, just think of good things, babies, successes, some conflict resolution, some effectiveness you've managed to bring somehow to your office, home, garden etc. etc. and you'll be okay.

  4. yes it is normal, but if you have too many of them i would consult a psychologist or psychiatrist

  5. No, not really.

Nightmares usually show that you're stressed. If you have a current problem in your life , you should solve it since it's taking over your dreams as well.

  6. Nightmares are very common among children and fairly common among adults. Often nightmares are caused by stress, traumatic experiences, emotional difficulties, drugs or medication, or illness. However, some people have frequent nightmares that seem unrelated to their waking lives. Recent studies suggest that these people tend to be more open, sensitive, trusting, and emotional than average.

  7. Nightmares should occur once in a blue moon. Too many nightmares mean that there is too many things going on in your mind or you may be troubled about something.

Also, nightmares are a persons subconsciousness trying to work out a problem.  If recurring occurs, the mind is trying to work out the problem, but if it can't, then a professional is needed to help.
