Is it normal to have pain after a filling?

i just got a filling yesterday, and it hurts when i bite on it or close my mouth tightly

is this normal? because if i remember correctly, every other time i got a filling, i never had any other pain.

and also my front tooth is very sensitive, is there any way to help controle that? im already using a sensitive toothpaste, but it still hurts.

  1. ~~It may just be very sensitive from all the drilling and work they did on your filling. It's should not be real severe.  Did they give you a shot around your front tooth? It can make it sensitive. Best thing to do is call your dentist and explain how severe the pain is and let them decide if it needs to be checked again.~~


  2. Sounds like maybe the filling is a little high and when you bite down on it it hurts.  The dentist will have to check your bite and adjust the filling.

    For the sensitive tooth, I would again, ask the dentist to see why it is sensitive.  Perhaps it needs a little gum surgery if the gums have receeded around it, or perhaps it has a cavity.

  3. well idk what kind of pain your getting

    but my tooth was sensitive too when i got my filliing

    like when i would drink water and stuff but it goes away
