Is it normal to pay to have headshots done or do legitimate talent agencies do them for free?

We are looking at InterFACE Talent Network and have had many skeptics. It seems legit, but according to the BBB, they've only been around for 10 months.

You should find your own headshot photographer. Your agency should be able to suggest a few, but if you are instructed to go to a specific one only, it's a common scam and the agent is in bed with the photographer, getting kick-backs.

Look on craigslist.org to find a cheapo photographer if you don't have the standard $200-800 to pay for headshots, but always make sure YOU see and like the photographer's portfolio before you pick them.

By the way, it's different for models, they can expect their agencies to send them out to a photographer for free, but even so, then they have to repay the agency once they start getting bookings. It's NOT like that for actors.Find your own photographer!

depends how much their charging

some agencys pay and some dont

if they charge you 200 dollars or less theyre fine but if you pay more then theyre just trying to get your money

nope dont go there, if youre worth their time, they pay you for head shots and all that jazz!
