Is it normal to recycle these items?

Question

things like aluminum foil and aluminum pie tins, putting that in with the aluminum cans.

and anything made of paper, besides boxes and newspapers and magazines, sticking it in with the paper products.

Good question,yes, in most cases you can recycle aluminum as you described,paper too,just make sure to sort well. My boys are in charge of the recycling(9&10 yrs)we all makes piles of recycling items all day and at night the boys take to the recycling containers in the garage.They often have to sort packaging in to plastic and paper and tho it takes time I remind them if we recycle there will be less playgrounds built on landfills for their children.The more we recycle the better.If you have specific questions(our local recycler does not take some numbers on hard plastics-4)contact your local recycler or municipal office.Good luck and keep recycling!

it sure is your doing a great job also remember to put in bottle caps from beer and cooler bottles take of the steel lids and bottoms from frozen juice cans,and the steel lids from the Pillsbury rolls ends

I put everything in my recyle container. Let refuse company sort what is recyclable and what is not. They do not pay me to do it!!

Your local recycling centre or your municipality should identify what materials should or should not be included in your recycling.

As for whether it is normal, i.e. do most places do it?  I believe recycling rigid aluminum is fairly common (that is pie plates yes, foil not as much), and most paper products are also commonly recycled (though books may need their covers and binding removed and foil tone gift wrap is often not recyclable - you do have to consider whether parts of an item are not paper before including them).

Yes I believe you can recycle these items. I would ask your recycling center or metal places that pay for alumium and other things like tin cans.

Yes, aluminum is a prime metal for recycling.  Paper also has many uses besides being turned back into fresh paper.

Every bit recycled is that much that will not have to be taken from nature, saving energy and conserving natural resources.  The biggest savings may be in landfill space.  Each cubic yard of airspace in a landfill is worth from $60 to over $100.  It does not take many detergent bottles to make a cubic yard, either.

Yes, very normal. In fact it's in my and should be in everyone's best interest to recycle. Recycling keeps our earth clean and a healthy place to live in. Do your best to recycle as much as possible even if its found in your front yard! Most things are recyclable. So not weird at all totally normal. GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

Our local recycle place takes aluminum foil and pie tins.  The price paid per pound is different from cans so they need to be separated.  They accept all paper products too, but the price is also different, so papers must be separated in groups of white paper, cardboard, and all other papers.

NONONO!  You can't throw anything that has used food into the paper recycling not even pizza boxes.  You can fold up boxes and packaging that have liners like cereal boxes or granola bar boxes and put those in, however.

Tin foil and pie plates can be recycled by reusing them (there are many clever ideas for reuse online).

dont recycle it's a waste of time.  burn all the plastic you can find.
