Question:

Is it normal to see a floating sparkle at the corner of your eye?

I'll try to explain this as best i can but every now and then i see a small sparkle floating by and then vanish. It's small and white but shimmery somewhat. I usually see it throught the corner of my eyes. What could that be? Do i just have mess up eye site? o_o

  1. I have those too! Especially when I am really tired or stresses. I never knew what they were.


  2. I am guessing you are about 40, maybe as young as 35.

    You likely have a floater.

    When you are young there is a strand of tissue in the eye from the retina at the back to the lens at the front. It is normal and a feature of how eyes grow.

    As we age that strand get weaker and often detaches. Again a normal thing. Usually it will dissolve and be unnoticeable but sometimes the stay floating inside the eyeball for ages.

  3. It's called a floater and most people have them. Most of the time it is dist on your eye that moves around. There are more serious cases but not to worry I have them too as do millions of others out there.
