  1. with some women they just don't gain weight during their pregnancies. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with my second child and have lost more then 45lbs so far this pregnancy. it's not healthy and i was extremely ill.  Suddenly 3 weeks ago i started feeling better and still i'm losing weight.

The doctors will keep an eye on it, although there is nothing you can really do if you are eating. Other then eating healthier foods. drinking lots of milk, eating lots of fruits and veggies and carbs will help you have a happy healthy baby.

  2. It's not good for you to be losing weight so drastically during your pregnancy, for you or your baby.  You need to try to eat more, maybe snacking between meals, and do what you can to add more calories to what you do eat.  What do you eat on a normal day?  Most doctors recommend eating 300 additional calories from what you ate before you were pregnant after your first trimester, so you have enough calories for yourself and your growing baby.

Remember, you are eating to make sure your baby grows healthy and strong at this point.  Eat healthy, but make sure you get enough calories to support the both of you.  The link I included has meal suggestions that might be helpful.

  3. I actually lost weight too the first 3-4 months, about 10 pounds and then by the 5th month I started to gain slowly.  Even if you can't eat cuz you feel blah, eat something healthy. Do it for the little bambino.

  4. My daughter has done the same thing with her first and second pregnancies. She is now 24 wks with #2 and just started to gain and is at 4 lbs. She is a labor/delivery nurse and her OB said she was fine but you do need to start putting some weight on now that your are in the second trimester. He told her to gain a minimum of 2 lbs a month from now til delivery.

  5. Well, if you are overweight to begin with, it's normal to lose weight during pregnancy because your metabolism is up.

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and i haven't gained weight yet. I've lost 9 pounds since the beginning and i've stayed at a steady weight for about three weeks now... (i'm losing weight all over my body, but the belly is still growing bigger every week)

Make sure you are eating enough and getting the nutrients needed for your baby (you are supposed to be taking in at least 300 extra calories). I know a woman who lost 10 pounds throughout her pregnancy and didn't gain anything and her baby was just fine (she was overweight though). Good Luck.
