I noticed colostrum leaking when I was about 7 month, now there is none! Does this mean that I have stopped producing it and won't be able to breastfeed? I'm 37 weeks.

  1. SOme women leak. Some women don't.  Some leak a lot, and some leak a little.

When baby arrives your body will make colostrum as necessary, and then begin making mature milk at 3-5 days.

Dont' squeeze your nipples.  You'll make them sore.

  2. no you should be able to nurse just fine. your body releases the main hormones needed to produce milk after the baby is born

  3. mine has stopped as well it dad last week. I'm 36 weeks and now I have pain in my breast, Some women don't leak at all until after the baby is born, I do believe it is very healthy. I recommend not letting your husband or boyfriend to suck on your breast, because that just made me go into pain..

  4. Your milk will be there properly when your baby is born.

Whilst it is common to leak milk whilst pregnant, I don't think it is advisable to try and express it!  Your body is not ready to feed yet.  Its just a hormonal thing.

  5. People don't just stop producing for no reason. Everyone else was right in saying you have nothing to worry about. JUST SO YOU KNOW!!! : I started using Lilipadz (the really cool plastic-like nursing pads that don't leak or show or anything) after I had been breastfeeding for about three weeks and they seemed to REALLY slow production. Just a warning!

  6. I leaked and then stopped. I had plenty when my baby(s) were born. Then the milk comes in.... thats the fun part.

  7. no you have not stopped producing, your body knows when you have that baby and you will start producing a lot more of it..

  8. That's totally normal.

Don't worry -- it'll be fine. Enjoy breastfeeding!
