Question:

Is it normal to take this long using USPS First Class Mail International

I bought a watch for over 100 dollar on eBay. The seller ship the item on July 24, and told me it would arrived in 3 to 4 days due to his in Indiana and i am in Toronto. Now, its almost a week and i still haven't receive my item.

Is it normal to take this long? or the seller is not being honest and didn't send the item?

How many days should anything arrived from Indiana to Toronto using USPS?

Is there no tracking for this type of service? How can i retrieve it if it gets lost?

Also, if the item arrived. Will the mailman deliver to my door or put it in my mail box?

THANK YOU FOR EVERYONE WHO ANSWERED.

  1. i happens sometimes

  2. It also depends on if he filled out the customs forms properly, or at all.  That can really delay things.

  3. Hi, normally I would expect anything coming from the U.S. via USPS to take a couple of weeks and definitely not three or four days.  I cannot tell you what USPS says about the shipping time but all parcels that I send to the U.S. from Canada via Canada Post's ground service take up to 12 business days. I understand that USPS First Class Mail is not meant to be fast. By the way, service also seems to be slower right now -- I think there may be a lot of customs and/or postal employees on vacation.

I cannot tell you if there is tracking available, that is a good question for the seller. Was your parcel insured? Not every parcel is.

The mailman would put a watch sent via USPS directly in my mailbox because it is one of those locked boxes.

Good luck, I hope everything is fine with your watch but I definitely would not be concerned about the timing until a couple of weeks have passed.

  4. USPS can take that long to get from Indiana to Illinois. Ask the seller if they got any kind of tracking number or a receipt. When I am mailing USPS on eBay I always keep my receipt until the buyer reports they received the item. First Class, probably your mail box.
